Mike L.

I installed the backup from the XP CD. I set up a password protected
directory for running scheduled jobs. I went through the wizard to schedule
a backup to a local drive. I logged off the schedule account. The
scheduled job did not run when scheduled - or at least I cannot see the
backup file.

Is there something special that must be done to get it to run?

Thanks

Mike

If you are having difficulty getting the scheduled task to run, there may be
some help in the following articles.
If you are trying to backup to a CD burner, see the last article in the
list.

As a workaround, backup to a folder on your hard drive and then burn it to
CD.
A better solution may be to invest in a more sophisticated backup program.

Yes. I set up an account with a password and set the 'run as' to that
account. It just doesn't seem to want to run.

I have anther XP machine and none of the scheduled jobs have run since I
first plugged it in 2 months ago. Interesting.

Those were informative articles, however none worked. I could run them by
right clicking the job and selecting run but none will run as scheduled
jobs.
I have this same situation on my other machine.
