xp gone stupid again

It all started last night. I was playing some game, quit
it, returned to windows, etc. And then I restarted the
computer but when I logged on to windows, nothing but a
background picture was (and still is) shown. I tried to
run windows in safe mode and then it's all OK. Despite
displaying nothing but a background picture, everything
else works just fine (I mean, any program or anything I
want to run, I have to run it by task manager). Please
help me!

When you right click on the Desktop, Choose Properties, Select the Desktop
tab and click on the "Customize Desktop" button - Can you still select what
Icons to see?

C

Craqon

Task Manager => Applications => New Task and type
explorer.exe

That should give back the desktop and icons and taskbar.
It will not fix the problem, but it's at least a bypass.

Then go to Start => Run and type msconfig

Go to the startup tab and clear any selections that seems
irrelavant. (You should be able to clear all of them
without any problems)

Then restart. It should fix the problem. Usually a startup
item causing this.

The game - or some fluke - has set your computer to HIDE desktop items. Just
remove that and they show again.
