Thanks in advance.

A local firm uses winpopup on their 5 computers for relaying messages. They
just purchased an XP machine and want to communicate with the other
computers. Is there a compatible messaging service built into XP?

Suggestions appreciated,

Dave H.

I did a search for "winpopup" on my installation of XP and did not find
"winpopup". Can I transfer the winpopup exe file onto the XP box and run
it?

Again thanks,

Dave H.

Go to www.download.com and search for 'winpopup'.

There are many programs for XP that do the same as the old winpopup, some
are free.

If not, you can copy the winpopup file to the XP computer and use it.

You can also use application that works on all windows version, like:
WinPopup Express at http://www.namtuk.com/mywinpopup.aspx
or
WinPopup Gold at http://www.smartison.com/

I'll look at those, because the one I found and uses (RealPopUp) has an
ugly bug - it never lets go of original account names!

So when Sally gets a new PC and Sally'soldPC is to become Mary, Mary
still gets messages sent to Sally, no matter how one renames the PC or
the user accounts. Sally can no longer be Sally, and the name Sally
dare not ever be used again as the messages go all over the place.

OTOH, RealPopUp is free. Ant don't say "you get what you pay for",
because that's a best-case assertion, not a truism :-p
