Hi All,
I downloaded the XP 64 .iso from the msdn subscriber
downloads and burnt it to cd.
I bought a new amd athlon64 3200 laptop.
When I insert the cd, nothing happens. It does not
appear to be a bootable cd. After spending the last 20
hours trying to produce a bootable cd I am still no
closer to getting this thing installed.
Finally, in desperation, I installed the standard XP Pro
onto the laptop (it does recognize that cd and my win98
cd) with the hopes of upgrading to XP 64 immediately
after, but to my dismay I find that when I view the cd
and click on Setup.exe (from within xp pro) I get an
error message indicating that Setup.exe is not a valid 32-
bit application...
WTF?? I just want to install this bad boy on my new
computer... any help will be most appreciated!!
Thanks,
Aaron
