in the bad old DOS days, you used to be able to use xcopy or xcopy32 to copy
EVERYTHING from an old drive to a new drive.

HOW do I do a similar thing with XP Pro? I have tried the install a new
drive, install XP and then run the File Transfer Wizard, but, keep running
into the 'doesn't exist' problem.

I know, now, having read it here, that i must change the IMG00001 file to a
..dat file, but, will that bring over ALL of my old files and programs, or
just the windows setup files?

You cannot use xcopy.exe to copy an existing installation to a new disk
while the installation is active. You either need an imaging program
(PQMagic, Acronis) or the disk cloning program that comes with
many new disks. Check the home site of your disk's manufacturer!
