Hi Bettye,
planning to change how a Microsoft Word document is built.
The real problems with long Word documents come from how
they're built to work internally, IOW it's inherent in the
program.
FWIW, round-tripping to Word 2002 HTML format, or to Word
2003 WordML format, often resolves the storage conflicts
(garbled data) that are behind unstable documents. So, in a
sense, some progress has been made already...
