Won't display email message

All new email messages after the install of 2007 show from/to, subject, date,
etc. in the header but will not display the body of the message. Everything
below the header is blank - in both the preview pane and the double clicked
full email. I can see I have a new email but there is nothing to read. All
old emails (from 2003) display correctly. The same thing is happening on my
son's computer. I have completely uninstalled OUtlook 2003 and and all the
2003 programs and rebooted - same problem. Anyone else? Were you able to
fix it?

There's your issue. Disable their integration with Outlook. See the
documentation of those applications on how to do that properly.

I seriously doubt this is an anti-virus issue. I had the same problem and
raised it with TrendMicro first, but they assured me that their software
would never delete the content of a message. Also making me suspicious is
the fact that this is reported as being a problem with Outlook 2003 that was
initially fixed with a hotfix in 2004. Apparently it happens with email from
senders who use custom options. I have not been able to get Microsoft support
for this because I am using an OEM version of Office 2003 on a new computer,
but the only thing my computer manufacturer can suggest is that it is due to
an Outlook plug-in and should be fixed by a reinstall. Any further insights
would be very welcome.

In this situation it was due to AVG, I had the same issue. It may not be
AVG's problem, but it is a conflict between Outlook 2007 and AVG. I was
running an earlier beta of 2007 and it worked fine with AVG but as soon as I
switched to the latest beta it had this issue.

Hope it helps.

I have the same problem, and it is longstanding. I have about six senders
whose e-mail won't show any text. The only comon factor I can see is that
when I go to View/Encoding, in every case the encoding is Unicode (UTF-8). I
have experimented with outlook express, and these same e-mails are readable
when using express. So it is not a virus scanning issue external to Outlook.
I feel it is definitely a problem with Outlook 2003. It was also not a
problem with earlier versions of Outlook.

I have found no solution, the only thing I can do is what some others have
suggested, I leave my e-mails on the server for a day after download, so that
any time I receive one of these e-mails, I can go to my webmail (where the
e-mail is readable) and forward it to myself. Then it comes through on
Outlook without problem.

I don't understand why Microsoft cannot figure out the solution to this, as
it is highly irritating. Maybe the next version will solve this.

Redownload them if you left a copy on the server. Otherwise; you don't.

back ?

I am not comfortable disabling antivirus scans of incoming emails. I wonder
what is causing this? Thanks for the reply in any case.

There's no reason to be uncomfortable as long as you continue to run the
on-access scanner.

An incompatibility between the AV scan and Outlook.

Disabled AVG and still can not read the emails. So far onoy solution using
Outlook Express in the second computer I have. This is not really a solution.
Very surprised Nicrosoft has not used its muscle to solve this

I'm having the same problem also. I had to go back to using express. It
doesn't have anything to do with virus software, it's a malfunction of
outlook 2007 beta2. Hope they get it fixed cause I really like it's layout
more than express

I'm using Outlook 2003 and I did the following;
In Outlook go to Tools>Options>Mail format>Stationery and Fonts>select <none>

Hope that helps.
