wireless disconnects then WEP key gets erased

Fairly frequently my computer loses the wireless
connection to the network and then wants to try to
connect automatically (SP2 but i think that it had a
similar problem before SP2) and isnt able to. When I look
closer my WEP key has been erased and i have to reenter
it and then the connection works fine again for a few
minutes until it loses connection again and loses the WEP
key again. Any ideas on how to keep my WEP key from
disappearing?
 
Check the Authentication options in your wireless network adapter's settings
and make sure that you don't have 802.1x authentication enabled. You'll
find this by right-clicking your wireless adapter in the Network Connections
box, selecting Properties, then the Authentication tab.
