winxp auto log off immediately upon login

upon login to win xp home edition, it automatically log
off by itself.
Anyone got an idea to resolve this.

I am having exactly the same problem. Cant figure it out.
have eliminated most of the hardware. My virus scanner was
upto date. Have you had any further luck.

I think that it´s the same for me...

When I turn on the PC, I reach the first menu where I can
choose between different configurations
("AdmAnistrator" "Me" "John" etc). But when I press one of
them, those are the messages I obtain:

"loading your personal configuration"

and 2 seconds later

"saving your personal configuration"

So I get back to the main menu and I am not allowed to
log on WindowsXP... I can´t even reach the "start"
button!!!

How can I solve this problem ? is there any way that I can
get into my machine? DOS, how can I get into that?
