I put a hard drive with windows 98 in my computer that had a windows xp hard
drive in it. (Sounds strange I know). When I boot, the DVD drive is not
recongnized and there are no drivers for ethernet control, pci card,
etc...How can I get online? I need drivers but if they are too big for a
floppy, what then? Help.....

Just for starters,

You could make the '98 drive a slave, boot to the XP drive and use "My Drivers" to save the
drivers you need to a folder on the '98 drive. Boot to the '98 drive and install the drivers.

You could make the XP a slave and have '98 point to XP for it's drivers.

You could boot to the XP and download the drivers you need for '98.

A little bit confusing. What is being booted? Windows XP or
Windows 98? If the HD had been installed properly, there should
be no issues with Windows XP. But with Windows 98, especially
if the peripherals were newer, then it would be necessary to
download the Windows 98 versions of their drivers and install
them. If too large for the floppy, then download them via the
Internet while using Windows XP and save to a download folder
on the Windows 98 HD.

Your question would get a better answer in the win98 newsgroup.
See if a win98 boot disk can access the DVD drive.
