Fellow WindowsXP Netters:

I have a 64-bit Intel Xeon processor machine currently running
Linux.

1)Will WindowsXP/2000 run in a 64-bit processor machine?
2)If so, is there a emulator to run the 32-bit Windows Applications
on this 64-bit machine? or will the a 64-bit machine can run 32-bit
applications as well?

3)If not, is there a way to run WindowsXP/2000 in a 64-bit machine?

Any light/advice/thoughts about the above issues will be greatly
appreciated.

Cheers,

Al Fuentes

The Intel Xeon is a 32 Bit processor.

The Intel Itanium is 64 bit along with the AMD Opteron.

Win XP 32 bit version will run on the AMD 64 bit CPU. The XP 64 bit version
for AMD will be out sometime in 2004.

THere is a 64 bit version of Windows XP Pro for Itaniums: the one for
Opterons is currently in a fairly late stage of Beta and you should not
have long to wait for it

AFAIK there will be no version of Win2000 - it would be expected that
any new machine would use XP (or Win2003 Server)
