at every windows xp startup no matter what, after
everything is loaded or while everything is loading the
windows system folder appears and just stays there till u
close it, can somebody tel me why this is happening and
how to stop it it is a big annoyance.

This is a known issue for owners of an SB Audigy 2 sound card. Re-enable
the item in MSConfig.

Then see www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm, Line 260, Left column for a
small utility that will correct this for you. The problem is caused by a
leading space before the /L:ENG. This causes the problem, the script
corrects it.

If this is not the case, see:

Verify that all the values in these keys do not contain any incorrect,
incomplete, or null entries (such as ""). These values can be checked here:
Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Sure. Sounds like in your startup, you have a reference
to c:\windows\system. And that's it. As weird as that
may sound.

Click Start - Run - type MSCONFIG in the box and load
that. There's a tab called StartUp. That lists
everything that's running on your machine during
startup. Scroll down until you see something running
just c:\windows\system, and uncheck that box. That
should pretty much do it.

There are other methods of doing this of course, one
being the registry, but this should work fine.
