Windows XP Security Updates

When I go to Microsoft.com and click on Windows Updates,
the address adds a v4 before windowsupdate.microsoft.com,
thus I am directed to
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com. Is this a fake
Microsoft site?

That is the correct site--it is labeled v4 because it is running version 4
of the Windows Update software.
