Windows XP Professional Upgrade

I recently purchased Windows XP Professional upgrade. I
wanted to upgrade from Windows XP Home to Professional. I
started the upgrade and it keeps hitting an error. And my
computer is now in an eternal loop. If I try to reboot it
just restarts the installation process. I don't know what
to do. Here is the error:

The procedure entry point GETIUMS cout not be located in
the Dynamic Link Library MSDART.dll

Any help on how to get my computer back would be
appreciated.

I found a couple of websites that say this file (msdart.dll) needs to be
renamed to msdart32.dll.

In what part of the upgrade are you hitting this error? If you are hitting
this in the GUI portion of setup then you can open a cmd window to rename
the file by pressing Shift + F10.
