Windows XP installation

Juan

Hi- I've installed Windows XP Pro several times and I
continue to receive the same error message over and over
again.

C000021a "Fatal Error."
The system needs to shut down.
0x0106a5094, 0x0053f3b8


Is anyone familiar with this error? I'm lookng for some
help. Thanks.

To hopefully avoid a partition/format/reinstall, boot off
the Windows CD, get into Recovery console (DOS prompt),
and run CHKDSK /R.
If you're prompted for the administrator password and you
don't know what it is, just hit Enter.

OIf this doesn't work, your partition might be beyond
repair. Then you'd have to wipe the slate and start over.
To save your data, it might be good at this point to
first buy another hard drive and install Windows to the
new drive. Then hook the old drive back up as a slave
drive to pull your data off, if you can get that far.

When and what are you doing when you get this error?
Do you have Goback installed?

Is it anything like this http://tinyurl.com/u339 then it could be a time to
run and hard drive thru diagnostic checks then get it replaced
