Windows XP home edition won't boot into Safemode

Hello,

I ran into a little trouble with Windows XP home edition today. The system
has a back door trojan on it and I can't remove the trojan unless I go into
safemode. With a normal boot I get the ole access denied message. However
when i attempt to boot into safemode. It gets to a file on the screen and
stops responding. Why would the OS load fine in normal mode, but won't boot
into safe mode?

Any help would be cool

Thanks,

Aaron

I ran into a similar problem today. Some program is running and is causing
svchost to use 70 to 80 percent of the processor time. When I try and run
regedit or msconfig to eradicat the beast, it closes those program out
before I get a chance to disable or look at the registry keys. Somebody has
built the best worm/bug/virus yet. One that prevents users from taking back
control of their machine and eradicating it.

Well Jerry,

Thast doesn't sound promising LOL. I will check it some more today when I go
into look at it. The trojan that is running on this machine is under
svchosts (plural) which has been used to host a few different viruses. This
computer is really messed up though. It also won't allow me to uninstall MS
works.
