I had windows Mllennium and upgraded to windows XP. Recently I took my
computer in for a complete reset. The shop installed windows XP with my
number, as I can't find my original cd. Now when I log on I get " Files are
are required for windows to run property have been replaced by unrecognized
versions. To maintain stability, windows must restore the original versions
of these files. Insert your windows XP home ediiton service pack 1 CD now.
(Is there a way to get another CD without paying the full price - I had my
son try his CD but is was a dell and wouldn't recognize in my gateway)???

I can bypass this login by clicking YES to unrecongized versions but I get
this messae first. "You chose not to restore the orginal versions of the
file. This may affect windows stability. Are you sure you want to keep this
unrecongized file version - then I click yes. Is this okay to do???? Is it
harmful??? I am able to get into windows explorer, etc and able to get to
websites.

Please I need some answers - thanks again

Jutta,

Your best bet is to take the computer back to the shop and let them
fix it as they obviously did not do the job correctly.

Charlie.
