Windows XP and Profiles

Greetings Group

I've been using Windows XP for sometime and have never used the "Profile"
feature. However, more recently my children are visiting highly
inappropriate web sites and installing programs and utilities at random. I
know I'll have to buy some specialist software to control their internet
activities, and I thought I could use the individual "Profiles" within
Windows XP to stop them installing junk.

Setting up the Profiles were easy however I came across a few problems that
I hope you can help with:

1) How can I get their e-mail from the Main Profile to their own?

2) I installed a couple of games in the Main Profile (Diablo II and
Chessmaster 9000) but these aren't available from within the new Profiles I
created. How can I set up their Profiles to access these games? When
inserting the appropriate disc the only option available is installation.

3) Do you have any recommendations for software that will restrict their
access on the internet to appropriate material.

Thank you kindly

Ian

Hi Ian,
1) How can I get their e-mail from the Main Profile to their own?

Depends on the email client you are using. You may need to setup the client
under their profile, then copy over the existing mail store to their profile
while logged on as administrator or with admin level priviledges. Once
copied over, depending on the program, they should be able to use an import
function.
2) I installed a couple of games in the Main Profile (Diablo II and
Chessmaster 9000) but these aren't available from within the new Profiles I
created. How can I set up their Profiles to access these games? When
inserting the appropriate disc the only option available is installation.

No specific recommendations, though you may find the link on the above site
to Doug Knox's security tool handy.
