JANEW.

I am having issues with a Creative DVr3 DVD player installed on my Win
2k Service Pack 4. There is no sound on the playback of the dvd (there
is sound when a cd is placed in the dvd drive).

This is a legacy device, however Creative providesWin 2k upgrade
software which I downloaded from their site which includes new drivers.

I attempted to install the new driver, however Win 2k insists on using
its own drivers (cdrom.sys, redbook.sys, storprop.dll) and does not
"see" the Creative drivers when I point it to that location.

Does anyone know of a solution or of how the drivers may be installed?
I did attempt to reinstall the device.

Thank You

You can force to use the "Other" drivers.

Perform the update and select "Display a list of known drivers...."
