I am having a problem that I have not experienced before. I am trying to
update my computer with the Windows XP Service Pack 2. When I run "Windows
Update" from the "Start" button it will open up Explorer and go to a web
page that states:
Checking for the latest version of the Windows Update software...
Depending on your connection speed, this might take a minute. During this
time, you may receive one or more security warnings. Review each security
warning to ensure that the content is signed by Microsoft, and then click
Install or Yes to install the software.
However the computer and site will just stall. Normally I would get the
security warning, and it would give me a list of items that are needed for
download. I have let this run all night (5 to 6 hours) once. I have double
checked that the Automatic Updates is On, but I still do not get any actual
updates.
Any suggestions????
