Is it better to use a program's own uninstall (if it has one)
or Windows Uninstall?

Hi,

The program's, though they frequently rely on the Windows installer.
Usually, they access a log that is built when the program is installed that
has a list of files and entries to be removed.

Windows Uninstall is just going to hand straight on to whatever
uninstall is provided by the program. So you might as well start with
that - only thing is it *might* not remove the entry in Add/Remove; but
if you then try that it should fail and offer to remove itself from the
list
