Does anyone know why Windows Messenger 5.0 is not offered
as an update @ the windows update website? I like the
feature that automatically sets your status to away when
in full screen programs (ie: during gaming and remote
sessions). Version 4.7 does not have that feature. I did
find the update again(formattted a few weeks ago and
wanted to update messenger) on the MS website, but it
took a few minutes. Would have been easier if was on
windows update. Just wondering why its not there. Thnx.

Bart

Windows Messenger 5.0 and MSN Messenger 4.7 are two different softwares.
Windows Messenger comes with XP and may get an update someday. MSN
Messenger gets regular updates.

Nobody said anything about Msn messenger. Did you even
read my question? I wanted to know why Windows Messenger
5.0 is not on the windows update website, but is
available for download from the MS downloads page. This
is not MSN Messenger this is Windows Messenger 5.0. It
has been out for almost a year now. Why is it not on the
windows update website. And just so there's no confussion
which one I'm talking about here is the link.

So do you have a answer to my original question?
Thanks.
