Windows media player files saved as .wav files

I would like to copy some of my music files from my Windows Media Player into
a folder as .wav files where I can use them as embedded files in a Power
Point presentation. Is this possible?
Thanks

I am sure there is a better place to post this question where you could get a
better answer, but to answer your question: Yes it is possible.

Hi Jeri
I posted this question on the Power Point forum on 25th May but I have not
had any replies to date. I think that they think it might be a question they
have answered a few times and after reading the FAQ I find that you can buy
programs that convert the files every which way but i just wondered if MS had
a resolution for the problem without file conversion. If you can help I would
appreciate it even though it is not Outlook!
Thanks
Charlie

Sure thing.
Explain exactly what you want to do so I can help you quicker. From what I
understand you want to take a CD and copy a song off of it on your PC and
then use it in PowerPoint? Or is it a song or sound on your PC?
Also, what version of PowerPoint are you running? 2000/xp/03?

Hi Jeri
Sorry been away. Thanks for trying to help. Yes I am running 2003 and I am
trying to embed a CD track into a power point presentatino so that i can mail
it with the sound. I have received some PP presentations as mail with sound
so I know it is possible but investigating the format of the music I find it
is .wav and I need to convert the CD track into .wav any ideas. Thanks

Sure thing...go to download.com and do a search for a music ripper. You can
find little free tools. Just do a search for "CD to Wav" and you'll be
surprised how many you get. I use ABPower Amp, but haven't seen it on the web
anywhere in awhile. It's a freeware. If you want shoot me your email address
and I'll email it to you. Otherwise do a download.com search or google for a
free version of a "CD to Wav".

I have since taken your helpful advice and have downloaded a prog called
FreeRip that works fine. Thanks again even though it had nothing to do with
Outlook, you are a Gentleman
