I am considering upgrading from Win2000 Pro to Win200 Server for a home
network.

Are there any major considerations for a first time user of Server?

Thanks

Tony

My two-pennyworth would be 'Why??' Server seems like overkill for a home
network, unless you want to learn about active directory or server
administration or something of that sort. My home/office network has a W2K
Pro (SP4), an XP Pro, an XP Home plus, occasionally, a W98SE system. There
are also a W2K Pro laptop and an XP Pro one that sometimes get connected to
it. The W2K Pro system runs internet connection sharing and a software
firewall for the network (DSL modem & hub) as well as my personal
applications. The W2K Pro box doesn't get switched off, other than for
upgrades, and I can't remember the last time it crashed.
