Hello,
I have a few games and programs which are designed for
Win 95 and do not launch on Win XP. I have tried the "Run
this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 95" from
the Compatibility properties from an Icon, but it does
not seem to work. These programs and games were working
correctly on Win 98 and Me.
Anyone having an idea on how to resolve this
compatibility issue?
Thanks for your help.

Good luck getting them to work. XP is suppose to run 95 programs, but alot of them it will not.

Sounds like the programs that make direct calls to hardware--this is not
allowed for stability reasons in XP.

Fact of life! Not all "legacy" programs will run on Windows XP. We all have
to get use to it!

No easy way.

You might thnk about a dual boot with 98/ME and XP. However, that can be a
lot of effort just to get a fee games to work.

Alternatively, chekc with the game makers and see whether there are
XP-compatible versions for sale. If there are, then I would guess that they
have better graphics, since they were designed for more modern hardware.

There may well be no way to make this happen. Although most older
programs will work under Windows XP, not all will. In particular
many older games will not.

For more specific advice, post the names of the programs here.
Someone may have experience with them.

MSVC++ V1.0 is a good example I think, because it relies on some TSR
programs.
