Will not come out of sleep

After being idle for times significantly longer than the sleep modes
settings, the PC will not respond to keyboard (PS/2) or mouse (PS/2)
activity.

I have to press the PC reset button and reboot.

Hibernate is disabled
Standby is not used
Harddrive are set so to never shut down
Monitor Off is set to 15 minutes

WinXP/SP2 with all updates thru this writing.

Looking for suggestions

In the Properties for these devices in the Device Manager you can
disallow Windows to turn off them. See if this helps.
