Why is some of my files on the computer compressed? Suddently it happened for
three weeks ago, i think when i diskfragmented the computer. I couldn´t work
with my musicprogram(ProTools 6.4) and get files fast enough from my external
disk(G:/H:). When i uncompressed files it worked fine.
In preferences in all drives(C:/G:/H:) the box (uncompress drive to save
diskspace)is unchecked. What has happened, and how can i get my drives
uncompressed now and in the future without doing things manuallly?

please help......

If you have been using disk cleanup, one part of the cleanup is to compress
old files, or you may have a disk management tool on your computer that is
doing this for you in the back ground.

Yes - thanks for your answer! I have used disk cleanup and i think thats why
the files is compressed. From now on i will not check the "compress old files
- box".
Is there certain way to uncompress files when they have been compressed, or
is it the mannually way?

Having these files compressed reaaly is not an issue, because you can use
them from within your applications just as if they were not compressed. The
OS will decompress them automatically upon usage.
If you want to decompress them anyway, then just select the properties of
the file, hit the Advanced button and uncheck the box for compression.
