Hi again,
A couple of weeks ago, my Win XP Home computer crashed becaused of an ailing
1 year old hard drive. Since then, I seem to lose all the previous OE
e-mails. When I use Norton AV2004 to scan for viruses there are none. The
scan shows there are lots of files in my old hard drive but I don't know how
to get into those files. I did get into C:\WINDOWS, etc. but I still can't
locate OE. Do I need to learn about editting Windows Registry? I would
appreciate your help and guidance.

OE stores mail in C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local
Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{6340DCA0-5D65-4B27-B7E2-C224FC841D93}\Microsoft\Out
look Express - where user= your login and identities= regkey for
your login.

In OE go to File- import - messages - OE6 - import from an OE6 store
directory and browse to the above path. If your old mail is still
there you'll get it back.

Thanks Alan. My old mails must have been in the old hard drive which is now
D:\. My new hard drive is C:\. It seems to me that a lot of MS commands or
actions are based on the primary drive which is now C:. How do I get at D:?

Just use the 'browse' button in the import sequence. If you open
windows explorer and can see the d:\ drive then the old files will
be in the same path as below replacing c:\ with d:\
