What's up with "Clipbook?"

I just read a post here about "Clipbook," and upon further checking in
Google found out that:
It is a part of my Windows XP Home

Well there is no reference to it in H&S, nor does a Windows search for
"Clipbook" turn up anything at all.
So, I went back to Google and found a download for it at PC World (why
would I have to go to them to get a part of my Windows?) In any case, the
download went bad, missing a file, could not run the app.

I am intrigued and would like to have this feature, yet have heard nada
about it in Newsgroups, books, etc. Is it a myth?

Perform the following:

1. Right-click on your Desktop and select: NEW > SHORTCUT
2. In the Create Shortcut window, type in: CLIPBRD.EXE , and click "Next"
3. In the next window, type in: ClipBook Viewer , and click "Finish"
4. A ClipBook Viewer shortcut icon will appear on your Desktop.

Thanks. That was almost too easy.
Without asking for extensive research, how might I determine what other
Windows goodies are hiding on my hard drive? Or is the "secret ClipBook" an
exception?

You found Pinball, right? :-)

The one I like is the Private Character Editor that is hidden away in Win XP

Build your own Fonts with eudcedit.exe

Thanks, Gord. That looks like fun. Will have to check it out.
Wondering why Windows hides these add-ons?
How hard would it be to put an icon in Accessories?

I found Pinball, yes, all 267 KB of it.
But I want more!

Google this exact phrase:

"hidden windows xp tricks" without the quotes... Try not to break anything
;)

Just look at programs in the Windows and the System32 directory\folders
you'll find plenty of things.

Will check these out and have some fun. Thanks.
Was Winux serious??

I answer 20+ posts a day (often much more) so I'm unsure of that you mean by
Winux? I'll need more info to be able to answer that particular question and
even then I might not know the answer :)

20? Add another zero and we are even. <w>

I'm in no contest. My idol is the South American Three Toed Sloth. That's a
contest you're free to win. Actually I have no idea how many posts I make
per day but I know it's quite a bit. I figured 20 would be a realistic
number that would be lower than what it really was so that no one could
actually take the time to count mine and see what the results are and
compare them with what I'd writen and then return with a comment about how I
was spreading misinformation. You really never know... Someone really might
decide to do such a thing.
