What is C:\Recycler For?

I'm working on cleaning up my HD space, and I discovered that this
folder contains over 4 gigs of files. Yet, I can't find any
information what this folder is for. Is it safe to delete these
files?

under explorer right click the "C" drive
properties
disk clean up
there you can see what you are cleaning out.
The recycle bin holds all of the files that you are deleting....in case you
change your mind.
they stay there till you clean out the bin

It is the Recycle Bin on an NTFS drive. IT has inside a subfolder for
each user account, containing the files that user has deleted. You need
to log in as each user in turn and empty the bin.

Thanks, it was actually a folder called NTPROTECT that was taking up
the space. I discovered that this is Norton junk even though I
deleted their program. I will never use Norton products again. I
don't like the way anti-virus hijacks my PC.
