Welcome screen email message

On the welcome or logon screen, it says of "24 unread
email messaged". I check my email and most of the time I
have none. Outlook express is not my default client. Is
there a way to get rid of the unread message.

Download and install TweakUi for Windows XP from the link below. Once
installed open the program and goto Repair>>Select Unread Mail Account.

Obtain and install the Windows XP version of TweakUI. Download it from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Open TweakUI (it's in Start -> Programs -> Powertoys for Windows XP).
To disable unread mail notification:
Click "Logon" > Unread mail > uncheck ""Show unread mail on Welcome
Screen"

There is an MSN addin which updates the unread email count in Welcome screen
