weird underlining

My computer now underlines everything --- shortcut icons,
topics in quark, you name it, there is an underline under
it. I have checked everywhere I can think of in display,
etc., but can't find a way to get rid of this. My IT guy
is stumped. Can anyone help

Try deleting the font cache file -- fntcache.dat in
the Windows System32 folder, and reboot.

If it is not the font cache, try reinstalling the base fonts
(Arial, etc.) in the fonts folder.

After this, it is likely to be a video driver problem.
