Weird Icon in Tray after SP2 Install

I have a small business LAN that has 4 workstations: 1 XP & 3 Win 98. I
just installed the SP2 update to the XP machine and it went just fine and
everything seems to be running normally. Also, we rarely have to connect to
the internet, so we use dial-up when necessary.

However, I notice that there is a new icon in the tray next to the 'time'
that looks like the computer-to-computer icon that I get when we use the
modem to connect to the internet, except that it also includes a little
yellow yield sign. If I click on it, it seems to indicate that it
represents the ethernet LAN connection and it says that the connection is
'limited or no connection'. However, I don't notice any degradation or any
problem with our normal LAN sharing programs.

Can anyone shed any light on what this icon is really trying to tell me? I
just know that I'm going to get a call from the office manager saying that
she apparently has a problem.

Thanks in advance...

The "Limited or No Connectivity" error is well known, sometimes it occurs
with
actual loss of network connection, other times network connection continues
even
with the message:
