Weird colors on .wmv file

Whenever I play a .wmv file in WMP, it always shows the
video in bright neon colors, like green, yellow, orange and
pink. Can anyone help me?
 
In WMP click on Tools/Options/Performance/Advanced and
then in the Video Acceleration section uncheck Use Video
Mixing Renderer and all three Legacy Video Renderers.
Then click OK and click Apply in the Options window. This
did the trick for me.
