volume structure corrupt

windows XP SP2. NO problem until today when I wanted to
to do a backup to an external drive: it stopped because
of a ''volume structure corrupt'' I did a scan to check
the errors and repair them but I still get the same
message (FAT 32 and only on partition). What can I do now?

It may be that your hard drive is bad.It might be best for you to backup
your data and have the machine formatted.If that doesn't help then get
it checked by local shop.
