Volume Control does not stay in Sys Tray

Hello,
I have read all the different threads concerning the Volume Control not
staying put in the SYS Tray. I am running Windows XP, SP2. I have tried all
of the following suggestions:
Restore Volume and Net Icon to Notification Area (Line 320)

And whenever I reboot the PC the Volume Control disappears. Any help would

Bob,

I had the *exact* same problem you are describing. And, as a result of your
post, I also ran all of the Tweaks listed below. Unfortunately, I still
could not maintain the SNDVOL32.exe program running in my SYSTRAY -- none of
the Tweaks worked.

What did work... Using MSCONFIG.exe, I selected the Startup tab and
deselected all of the programs concerning "sound" that were running at the
startup. These included MIMBOOT.exe (MusicMatch) and my XBLiveXP.exe
(Creative Soundblaster Live! program); plus a few others I decided I didn't
want running. Apparently, one of these programs was interfering with the
SNDVOL32.exe from appearing in the SYSTRAY. I have booted several times now
and each time the SNDVOL32 program appears in the SYSTRAY.

Hope this works and thanks for posting.. you prompted me to track down and
fix this annoying and recurring problem.
