Visual Studio® 2005 SP1

Because of its size I need to go someplace, download SP1, copy it to a CD
and bring it to my machine.

In the MS instruction it says the following:
A copy of one of the supported Visual Studio® 2005 products must be
installed on the target computer.

I don't know if that will inhibit me from downloading and copy it to a CD.
I'd hate to travel only to find out I can't down load and copy it to a CD.

Can you advise?

Will I be able to download and save on a machine that does not contain
VS2005?

Is there something special I have to do?

Thanks in advance

I believe you should be able to download the setup file standalone
(all 431Mb of it). AFAIK, once you have the installer it doesn't need
a connection. It looks quite friendly for network / CD based
installation.

Is that the file I get if I if I do a standard update.

Seems I tried it oince but it downloaded a realatively small file (which
then normally runs and downloads the main update file.)

Maybe that was before the modern installer.

Thanks
