Just wondering what people generally consider to be the most effective virus checker and killer. matthew

I'm using a couple atm, on different machines.

Nortons AntiVirus, which works well and has saved me a few times.

It's a bugger to completely uninstall though.

And Trend's PC Cillin, which is very good, and comes with a freebie firewall. The firewall can be disabled, if so desired.

For free, there's AVG V7.0, which I've heard works well.

The most effective Virus Protection is to ... disconnect from the Internet. :D

Failing that ... I use Norton 2003

Excellent idea, never thought of that :D :D :D

any reason why you do not use free versions of anti-virus:confused:

I've used Norton since 95, old habits die hard :D ... nothing wrong with AVG I just prefer Norton.

I've been using AntiVir for about a year now and its great. Free of course. German company that is constantly updating their drivers so you'll be prompted to update now and again...

I've been using AVG for the last month or so, and it actually picked up stuff Norton didn't when both were current!
