i am trying to watch a video that i have., but it laggs.
it does not lag all the time (once i turned on my
computer and it wasnt lagging) but most of the time it
does lag. i tried watching other video files even at
better wuality, but only this file lags.

please can you tell me possible problems and how to
overcome them.

my computer is well capable of handling this file.

What kind of video and what codecs does it use?
What is the file extension and where does this video come feom?
Is it correctly encoded?
What are the specs of your PC?
What software are you using to play this video?
What other applications are you runnung simultaneously?
How fragmented is your harddrive?
When is the last time you:
Ran a complete antivirus scan with updated signatures?
Ran Disk Cleanup?
Ran Disk Defragmenter?

Impossible to answer your question with the small amount of info you give.
