Video capture solutions for notebook PCs

I am looking for recommendations for products that allow one to capture
composite video using either a PCCard/PCMCIA or USB (Firewire might be
okay, but we are dealing with composite video here ONLY).

We have looked at the Plextor ConvertX device. The quality is quite
poor IMHO. The Avermedia USB is even worse. The only one that has been
found to be acceptable is ImperX PCMCIA solution, the VCE-Pro. We are
looking for reasonable priced solutions under $600. Again, we have no
digital video output to digitize.
