hello my questions is how do you make the data recovery
floppy with xp pro? using win2000 for the last couple of
years making the recovery/restore disk was easy. today
with winxp I opened up the backup utility and clicked on
ASR icon and instead of making a recovery disk its makes
backup of the hard drive and files which would not fit on
a cd so I put it on the folder in my doc is 3 gigs, so how
do I make a windows xp repair/recoverydisk?

Hi, Steve.

"Bob" asked the same question just 6 minutes after you posted this. Do you
know Bob?

The answer is, you DON'T make a data recovery floppy for WinXP. Just boot
from the WinXP CD-ROM and press R to enter the Recovery Console.

Actually you can, in XP pro using NT backup and the ASR wizard.

Using the ASR function within NT backup in XP Pro after it created the
backup didn't it ask for a floppy disk to create the ASR floppy? If not
you can still create an ASR startup floppy from the backup set. Refer
