user accoutns stops responding

Hi
i set a pasword on my pc before going away so it would be safe, now i'm back I want to remove the password, but when I go to user accounts in control panel to do so it just stops responding and crashes. I have found an alternate way to change password but not to remove it. is there a soloution for this?

i am not 100% sure it works or not for the matter, but i know you could get in to repair console and delete the c:\windows\system32\conifg\sam , then copy the c:\windows\repair\sam back to c:\windows\system32\config\sam
then the problem should be solved
