I have an XP Tablet PC and want to install Vista Ultimate as a dual boot
option due to the need for several programs I have to have that are not yet
Vista compatible. If I install Office 2007 on the Vista partition, will it
"see" the files/documents I already have in the XP partition and be able to
use them and vice versa? Thanks.

Mine does but you may need to make some changes in security/ownership.

Hi, Tom.

I've never had a Tablet PC, and I've been unable to get WinXP Pro to boot
recently. But, all during the beta period, I continued to dual-boot
(multi-boot) WinXP Pro SP2, WinXP x64, and one or more beta builds (both x86
and x64) on my only computer. I had to re-install Office many times, always
into either E:\Program Files or E:\Program Files (x86). (It took me a few
months to learn that (x86) meant that my 32-bit apps should go there when I
was running x64!) Other than the multiple Setups, there was no problem
sharing either the apps or the data between WinXP and Vista. I was using
Office 2003; the 2007 version didn't come along until about the end of the
Vista beta.

As far as "seeing" document files, Office (or any other app) doesn't care
whether they are on C: or D: or X:, or whether any operating system is
installed on the same volume or not, so long as you tell Word, for example,
where the file is. Just Browse to it and Word will remember.

Thank you very much. I am most grateful.

LG,

Thanks for your answer. I am not sure what you mean by "changes in
security/ownership". I am not an IT guy, so my knowledge is limited.
