Hi,

After installing SP4 I am unable to use my JumpDrive
(Lexmar). It is a USB device and it just stopped
working. I can plug it into another machine and it
works. I can plug another USB device into my machine and
it is recognized. I have a Dell Optiplex GX270 with 256MB
of ram. BIOS is up to date.

any ideas>

Thanks Craig

Now I ran into the same kind of situation, and tracked an answer of sorts to KB822368, but the web page describing didn't offer any kind of patch to fix the problem it described. I was very disappointed, because the steps provided under http://support.microsoft.com/?id=819332 were steps I had tried several times, and I never could get rid of the (!) on my USB device

Any ideas

I have W2K, SP4, non-ACPI installation, which worked fine with my camera 2 weeks ago, and now doesn't because of this

Read KB819332 again, specifically 'hotfix'

Well, I must be honest that I am not sure what I was supposed to get from a 2nd reading, but I looked again, followed some links, and still didn't see a direct answer, and certainly no access to a software fix without risking a significant charge

I did, however, let my dual-boot Linux try, and although I know too little about Linux right now to do anything with it, it did recognize my camera brand and model plugged into the USB port on the 1st startup

I went a step further, an went through the WinUpd to get every W2K-specific hotfix available, which made no diff. In case my SP4 file was bad, I D/L that again, and re-installed it

What could I be overlooking here

It states that the hotfix may be available free of charge from MS, if it is
specifically required to cure the aknowledged prob.with some sys. - This
hotfix is not available frm MS update -
