Hi all,

Some important system files of my WindowsXP was modified. Now I can't
logon into my desktop. But the network is still working. I know
there're default sharing drivers in WindowsXP. So I want to access my
files from another machine. However, when I type "\\192.168.0.1\C$",
it popups some window to ask for password of GUEST.
Would you please tell me how to log on into my machine with my
account? Thank you very much.

Your machine that does not allow login is either Home
edition, or Pro set to use simple sharing.
As such, accessing the administrative shares, like C$,
will be useless to you as you must log in over the network
as an admin to access administrative shares, and, with
simple sharing, after accessing a share you will only be
able to do what has been granted to Guest in the NTFS
permissions.
