I know about and have used the Windows Upgrade Advisor for Windows XP and
found it saves alot of time and frustration. Do you know if you can get this
on CD ? Some people I know that have slow connects just cannot download the
35 MB file it uses.
Also I heard talk of a Windows Server 2003 Upgrade Advisor ? But have
never had any luck in finding one.
Thanks

Hi,

You can run the 2003 advisor by running:
WINNT32.EXE /checkupgradeonly
In the I386 directory on your Windows Server 2003 CD. You can skip
downloading the updated files if you choose

Thanks Jonathan,
I had looked on the first disk for something like this, but was looking for
something that looked like Upgrade. So thanks alot ! Will be trying that one
out in just a few moments.

I was just checking out your web site, Nice work ! I had not seen that
before on the MVP web site lists, but it looks like you have already
answered alot of my questions on Server 2003 in your web. That should make
life easier going from Windows 2000 Pro-->Server 2003.

Just curious, have you seen any PC's that come with Windows 2003 on them as
standard OS's ?
Thanks again

Hi Tedd,

Most of the major resellers like Dell, HP, etc, sell computers with Windows
Server 2003 pre-installed

OK thanks Jonathan,
I had tried a few general searches on CDW, Amazon and a few others and had
no luck, but will check the site directly.

I think you have to look at Servers, and not standard PCs.
