I installed some software in XP when I was signed on as
the administrator. Now, when I Limited user signs on and
tries to run the application they get the following
message: "Failed to update the system registry, Please try
using Regedit"

The application runs after I click ok.

What do I do to fix this problem?

Evidently the app needs to play in the registry. If you (running as
administrator) change the ACLs on the reg keys it wants to use, adding the
user that will run the app, it should work.

I think sysinternals.com has a free tool to monitor registry activity. I
don't know an easier way to determine what reg keys the app wants to use.
Maybe the vendor documented them?
