Uninstalling Outlook Express

I can't see to kill outlook express in Windows XP. Keeps
saying that another program is using components. Nothing
else running. Need to delete it to use spam program
correctly with Outlook 2000. Any suggestions? Xpress
doesn't appear in add/remove programs but is in a
directory and can be accessed.

Outlook Express is not designed to be uninstalled in Windows XP.
It is tightly integrated with XP's system files.

Cary,

What then happens when one uses the "Add or Remove Programs" applet in
Control panel to access the Windows Component Wizard via the Add/Remove
Windows Components, and unchecking Outlook Express. Doesn't thsi
un-install Outlook Express?

No, it just uninstalls the Outlook Express icons (shortcuts) from
your Desktop and Start Menu. Outlook Express remains installed,
you just will not have the icons visible to launch it.
