unable to view e-mail attachments after installing updates

I just finished installing Windows XP SP1a and a
few "critical updates." Now I am unable to view most e-
mail attachments (old & new -- they are grayed out).
When I double-click on the e-mail to get a full-screen
version, I get the following header: "OE removed access
to the following unsafe attachments in your mail..."

Any help will be appreciated.
