I'm unable to start Terminal Service:

At first, WMI service itself wouldn't start. That was cured by the tip
from
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...mi+class+not+registered+xp&btnG=Google+Search
After that, I was able to start WMI. Still I was unable to
start Terminal Services, nor to access network adapter advanced properies.
I came across this:

This fixed all symptoms but one. Network adapter advanced properies work
now

I've tried Sysinternals' FileMon.exe and RegMon.exe to track down why it
fails. I tried
comparing the logs with a working XP installation, but I wasn't able to
pin point the
reason for failure.
Is there anything I could do to fix this?
